Working4U – Money provide information and assistance to all residents within the authority on a wide variety of benefit, money, fuel, housing and social care related issues.  A full benefit check and/or money advice is offered to all who contact us or who are referred to our service.

 Income maximisation plays a vital role in Health and Social Care Partnership services, such as Community Care, Children and Families, Mental Health and Addictions.  We have advisers across the authority who assist people and their families affected by Long Term Conditions, Mental Health , Learning Disability and Addictions.  .

 We offer telephone advice, office appointments and in exceptional circumstances can offer a home visit.  All claims for benefit will be monitored and progressed by advisers, including any follow up claims or reviews that may be required.  Appeal Tribunal Representation is also provided.

 Our experienced team of Money Advisers can help with any money concerns you may have such as managing your debt and budgeting.  We can negotiate with your creditors; assist you in the preparation of a Financial Statement; and advise you of your options and routes out of debt, including a Trust Deed or Bankruptcy.  Our accredited money adviser can also assist with application for Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS).

 Working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, our Macmillan Benefits Team support people and their families affected by Cancer, whether it be benefits and/or debt advice.  Their Improving the Cancer Journey service is designed to offer a holistic need assessment to everyone diagnosed with cancer to help them access the supports they need.

Working4U – Money is part of a wider service which includes services focusing on Employability and Learning  for young people and adults.  These services are designed  to help those who are seeking employment, or aspiring to get back into work, remove barriers to employment  or to increase their skills base.  Assistance can consist of a variety of services such as modern/foundation apprenticeships, confidence building courses, accessing learning opportunities including accredited or job specific training, help with CV writing, English Speaking for Other Languages, literacy/numeracy courses, digital IT support and access to funding.
